Vivekananda Institute of Rural Technology

Building a Life Where Education is a Way of Life, Not Merely A Degree!

At Vivekananda Institute of Rural Technology, we faced a unique challenge in our mission to transform the rural lives. While the elders wanted their children to go to cities for a better education, a new concern emerged. Once the youth experienced city life, they often didn’t want to return. This created a serious issue for the village, as no one would be left to work in farming or help solve local problems.

How could we ensure the youth get a good education while also supporting their village?

That’s where Bharati Didi and her dedicated team came in with a creative solution.

What We Do?

At Vivekananda Institute of Rural Technology (VIRT), we provide hands-on vocational training to rural youth in practical trades such as metalwork, carpentry, electrical work, and fabrication. Our programs are designed to equip students with the technical skills and problem-solving abilities needed to address everyday challenges in their communities.

More than 500 students are currently engaged in learning through real-life projects that promote innovation, self-reliance, and sustainable development.

A team of over 65 committed instructors and staff members guide and support this mission, ensuring that education at VIRT leads not only to skill development but also to meaningful community transformation.
